Team manager Alessandro Lucarelli said Dejan Kulusevski will stay at Parma until the summer and advised the youngster to “not look at what’s written about him.”
The Sweden international is on loan from Atalanta this season and has really found his feet with the Ducali, attracting interest from the top teams in the league. Lucarelli denies that Parma will lose the 19-year-old already this winter.
“He will stay with us until the end of the season,” the team manager told TV Parma. “He is a very young boy and must not look at what is written about him.
“Too much praise, especially for a young player, can lead to a drop in the performances. He has to keep doing what he has done so far.”
Parma are currently eight in the League and Lucarelli is sure they have learnt from last year’s poor spell after the winter break.
“I hope, and I am convinced, that we will not suffer like we did in the second part of last season,” he said. “This is a very competitive league, where any carelessness can cost you dearly. However, we have a solid group that can react in the best way when they’re faced with difficulties.”
After losing 1-0 to Milan last weekend, Parma are getting a short break from Serie A this Thursday, as they prepare to meet Frosinone in Coppa Italia.
“It’s normal for those who have played a lot to drop a little, both physically and mentally, but unfortunately the emergency linked to injuries has forced us to send them out there.”
