Black Friday is officially here.
Many retailers kicked off their big sales on Thanksgiving, and more are rolling out specials Friday, including stores that traditionally keep their doors closed such as Costco, Sam’s Club and Apple.
Kohl’s and J.C. Penney opened Thanksgiving afternoon and will stay open until late Friday. Other stores, including Best Buy and Target, will close for a few hours before opening Friday morning.
Though stores are likely to be busy, Black Friday probably won’t be the busiest shopping day of the year.
Since 2014, Super Saturday, the last Saturday before Christmas, has been the busiest and is expected to maintain that status, according to RetailNext, which analyzes traffic and other metrics at brick and mortar stores.
