Alexis Sanchez Has Earnt A Reported £8.2 Million Per Manchester United Goal

Alexis Sanchez has so far cost Manchester United up to £41 million, at £8.2 million a goal, during his 18 months spell at the club and he looks nowhere near the team right now.

When United signed Sanchez in January 2018 they beat Manchester City, who had a long standing interest in the forward, but that has not been a win for them in the slightest.

According to the Sun, the 13 time Premier League winners have paid Sanchez £41 million since signing him, which is about £350k-a-week basic wage, up to around £500,000 with bonuses and image rights.

The Chilean scored 80 goals in four years at Arsenal in all competitions but hasn’t got close to that conversion rate since moving to Old Trafford. Sanchez has netted just five goals in 45 appearances, with just three coming in the league.

Sanchez’s wages ended up being so expensive because Jose Mourinho wanted to beat rival Pep Guardiola to the signing and because he was available to leave for free the summer following his move.

The former Udinese player reportedly isn’t featured in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for the season and according to Roma Press the forward has been offered to Roma as a potential return to Serie A.

Any deal would apparently be on loan and would see the Premier League club cover a large portion of the players wages but if they do want him out of the squad it’s likely to be their only option.

The 30-year-old is considered not yet ready for action after returning back to pre-season training later than most following the Copa America.

He missed the first game of the season Sunday as Solskjaer decided on a young, fast team, against Chelsea as they won 4-0.

Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford played in the three forward positions with Martial, Rashford and replacement Daniel James bagging United’s goals between them.

The club sold Romelu Lukaku in the summer as he wasn’t deemed able to fit in with the new system. Sanchez arguably could at his best but is far from finding it right now.

Will Sanchez leave this summer or can he get back into United’s team?
