Andy Ruiz Jr Reacts To Anthony Joshua Rematch Announcement

Andy Ruiz Jr has broken his silence on the Anthony Joshua rematch announcement with a spirited post on social media.

Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua announced the rematch with Ruiz Jr last Friday, but the unified heavyweight king failed to acknowledge the announcement or join in with the promotion.

His trainer hinted at further dispute with reports claiming the fighter hasn’t signed off on the rematch to take place in Saudi Arabia on December 7.

But the man himself has finally taken to social media to react to the proposed venue and date for the rematch by posting a message on Instagram.

“Ready for anything that come my way, you can’t scare me with a good time,” he wrote accompanied with a picture of himself.

“Blessing to all my people, fans, family, everyone that has God in their heart, much love and remember dreams come true.”

The Mexican-American wanted the fight to be held at Madison Square Garden in New York or in Mexico, though he does get his neutral territory in Saudi Arabia.

Despite confusion whether he has signed the contract to face Joshua again, his coach Manny Robles insists the rematch will happen.

“Well you’ve only heard one side – it takes two to tango right, you’ve only heard one side so far and we’re yet to hear from Andy,” he said.

“I’ve got to sit down with my team and see what’s going on really, but as of right now, they can say we’re fighting December 7 – they can say we’re fighting next week but nothing’s been confirmed.

“It’s just a question of them (Team Joshua) sitting down and reaching an agreement and making things happen.

“I believe it will happen of course but negotiations have to be met.

“There’s other terms that need to be met to finalise the fight.”

Who wins the rematch? Let us know.
