Man City confident Leroy Sane will snub Bayern Munich
Manchester City believe Leroy Sane will snub Bayern Munich if the German giants step up their interest in the winger by making an official bid.
Sane returned to pre-season training last week and indicated he has no desire to join Bayern, despite the Bundesliga champions trying to lure him away from the Blues.
City value the winger at £100million – £30m more than Bayern president Uli Hoeness indicated they wanted to pay.
Pep Guardiola will not stand in the 23-year-old’s way if he wants to leave – and Bayern meet the asking price. But City chiefs believe Sane wants to stay with the club.
He still has two years left on the £60,000-a-week deal he signed when he arrived from Schalke for £37m three years ago. And City are ready to hike his wages towards £150,000-a-week – including bonuses.
Sane was on the plane when City’s squad flew out to Shanghai last night to take part in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
And the belief at the Etihad is that he will still be at the club when the Bundesliga transfer window closes on September 2.
