Villa close on Konsa
Aston Villa will this morning take their summer spending to £80million with the capture of Brentford’s Ezri Konsa.
Bees stopper Konsa, 21, is due to be confirmed by Villa today after his switch from London.
The England U21 international was signed by Dean Smith a year ago from Charlton when he was in charge at Griffin Park.
He is now being reunited with Smith who has already spent £68.5m on Tyrone Mings, Wesley Moraes, Matt Targett, Kortney Hause, Anwar El Ghazi and Jota.
Promoted Villa also have bids in for Burnley keeper Tom Heaton and Egyptian winger Trezeguet.
They have bid for Heaton after Championship Stoke refused to drop their £25m price for England shot-stopper Jack Butland, who is also wanted by Bournemouth.
But Villa have told Burnley they will not pay over the odds for Heaton, who is 33 and only has one year left on his contract.
Villa boss Smith has also bid for wideman Trezeguet,24, after the club scouted him three times in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Villa look set to splash over £100m as also have other targets including Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips and another striker too.
