Cristiano Ronaldo has been performing his heroic duties for Portugal both on the pitch and off it after stopping the team bus to pose for a photo with a young fan.

According to Portuguese publication Flash, Eduardo Moreira was holding a sign for the Juventus superstar that said the following: “Cristiano, give me a hug.”

And when Ronaldo spotted the child holding the sign, he demanded that the team bus be stopped and security brought the boy on board for a photo.

Flash also says that the 11-year-old has battled leukaemia for the past decade, making this moment even more special for Moreira.

Talk about oozing pure class, right?

Unsurprisingly, fans have shown nothing but praise for the Portuguese superstar after the video started to make the rounds on social media.

“You can’t not respect this,” one Twitter user wrote in response.

Someone else said: “Class act.”

A third wrote: “Not all heroes were [sic] capes. @Cristiano, class [act].”

A fourth added: “I may think [Lionel] Messi is better, but Ronaldo is a class act, awesome dude.”

Ronaldo and his Portuguese teammates have been training at the Estádio do Bessa ahead of their Nations League final clash against the Netherlands.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid ace fired his side into the final after he scored a superb hat-trick against Switzerland on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands booked their spot in the final as they beat England 3-1 on Thursday.

Ahead of the final, Ajax player Daley Blind has warned his Dutch teammates they must watch out for the threat of Portugal beyond the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“With Ajax, we planned to stop Juventus, not just Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said.

“And it’s the same now — we have to stop Portugal, not Ronaldo.

“Of course, he is a player who can make the difference, but we have to be prepared for all the Portuguese players.

“There are enough videos of Portugal’s previous match that we can analyse.

“It’s a great feeling to be playing the final with your country and having the opportunity to win a prize. It’s different than when you play for your club.

“We’ve got a great group of players, all hungry for success. If you reach the end, you want to win. It’s the first Nations League, so we can write history by winning it.”
